His latest album, Best Life Now, produced by acclaimed drummer Nate Smith (Vulfpeck’s The Fearless Flyers, Brittany Howard, Emily King), was released in February 2025. This new project draws from a rich tapestry of influences, blending elements of folk, R&B, and the contemporary jazz Sachal is known for, into a sound that is as fresh as it is heartfelt. With its deeply personal themes set to a soulful groove, Best Life Now represents a bold evolution.
Building on the success of his past projects, including Still Life (2022) with pianist Romain Collin, Sachal continues to draw listeners in with each release.
His career includes critically acclaimed albums such as Shadow Train and Slow Motion Miracles, and he has put his unique stamp on everything from jazz ballads to original music. Over the years, he has collaborated with an array of celebrated artists, including Natalia LaFourcade, Milton Nascimento, Wynton Marsalis, Bobby McFerrin, and Jon Hendricks, showcasing his versatility and depth.
A regular performer at major festivals and venues worldwide, Sachal’s music transcends traditional boundaries, appealing to audiences across diverse genres. Beyond his recordings and performances, he is a dedicated composer and lyricist; his singing and writing was featured on Gerald Clayton’s Grammy-nominated album, Life Forum (2013).
