GET TICKETS"And She Became the Rain" is a concert reading of a play with music written by Nathan Yungerberg. It follows Sid, a Black queer woman and member of a Grammy-winning R&B/Soul duo, as she grapples with the loss of her lifelong romantic and creative partner, Nikki. As Sid struggles with grief, her estranged mother, Brenda, reappears, seeking reconciliation—but Sid resists. Exploring themes of love, loss, intergenerational healing, and the lasting effects of mental health struggles, the play unfolds as a deeply emotional journey, blending storytelling and music.
Featuring music and lyrics by Lawrence El Grecco (Lawrence El or Lawrence Waddell), a founding member of Mint Condition, the Grammy-nominated R&B band.
Directed by NJ Agwuna.
