FOREVER PUBLIC

Forever Public is an ambitious, multi-year capital campaign with a goal of raising $175 million to further our mission and ensure the future of great, accessible theater for all.

For more than 60 years, The Public Theater has been developing, producing, and presenting groundbreaking theater with the most dynamic artists of our timeGuided by our founding principles that theater is an essential force for change and that art and culture belong to everyone, The Public is dedicated to making art that is of, by, and for all people. From The Delacorte Theater in Central Park to our downtown home at 425 Lafayette Street, our mission is to tell our City’s stories.

The Public is enormously grateful to all who have so generously supported this Capital Campaign.

Text On Card: The Delacorte Revitalization

Nestled under a canopy of majestic trees, The Delacorte Theater is a unique destination in the heart of Central Park. It provides hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers and visitors with the transformative experience of The Public Theater’s Free Shakespeare in the Park.

After a historic renovation, the theater reopened in August 2025, bolder and brighter than ever before, and ready to share the magic of Free Shakespeare in the Park for many summers to come.
