Free Standby Tickets
A free standby line will be available on September 3 at The Delacorte Theater, offering a limited number of free seats to this special outdoor event.
How it Works:
- The HAMILTON screening begins at 7:00PM.
- Public Theater staff will begin monitoring the standby line at 5:00PM.
- Free tickets may be distributed to those in line any time between 5:00PM and the start of the screening at 7:00PM, or until the line is dismissed.
- If available, tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of 2 tickets per person.
- Seat locations are assigned randomly and are not based on your position in line.
- All guests must line up along the designated path, as directed by Public Theater staff.
- Unfortunately, we cannot offer a separate standby line for seniors (65+) or individuals with disabilities. All standby tickets are distributed based on availability and are the best available at the time of release.
- We will do our best to accommodate those with disabilities, but please note there are no guarantees for standby seating.

Proceeds from this event help The Public create free theater for New York City, produce groundbreaking new works by artists who dare to tell their unique stories, and strengthen our vibrant community partnerships. Please note that donor-advised funds (DAF) cannot be used as payment — either partially or wholly — for any tickets that confer goods and/or benefits with substantial value. However, you may still support our event through a DAF by making a fully deductible contribution.
